2024 Sacramento Kings Capitalize Startup Competition

The Sacramento Kings are excited to announce the opening of applications for the Capitalize startup competition, now in its ninth year. This initiative is dedicated to discovering and highlighting local entrepreneurs. Participants have the remarkable chance to associate with the Kings' global brand and benefit from pitch coaching, engaging workshops, and the opportunity to present their ideas to investors, executives, and the broader community.

Throughout the competition, four finalists will be chosen to progress to Tech Night at the Golden 1 Center on April 11. Here, they will gain exposure during the game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Sacramento Kings and vie for votes from fans and judges to win cash and in-kind prizes, which will be awarded at center court.

Timeline

  • January 29 at 9 AM – Application Period Opens 

  • February 15 at 11:59 PM – Application Period Closes 

  • February 16 at 12 PM – Top 16 Companies Notified 

  • February 22 at 12 PM – Eight Semifinalists Announced 

  • March 27 – Pitch Day at Golden 1 Center Selection of Top Four Companies 

  • April 1 – Fan Voting Opens 

  • April 11 – Winner Announced at halftime of the Sacramento Kings vs. New Orleans Pelicans game

About Rich Foreman

Rich Foreman is the founder of KidneyLuv which develops solutions for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease Patients (CKD). He is also the COO of IGH Naturals. Previously, as founding CTO, Rich led the team that developed the CordicoShield / CordicoFire Wellness App. Cordico was honored with the Sacramento Innovation Award in 2021.
