About Ken Murray
As the founder of Murray Tech Law, Ken has spent over two decades helping new and established companies optimize and protect innovation, establish their brands, and develop sound business plans to support initial or subsequent financing. Ken is frequently called upon to assess company assets, intellectual property and operations to identify opportunities for growth and financial optimization. Throughout his career, he has successfully participated in startups, mergers, acquisitions, and company/project turnarounds.
Ken established MTL to deliver combined legal, technology and business services. MTL focuses on the support of innovation, technology development, brand establishment, company transformation, and company pivots/turnarounds. This expertise extends to implementation of economically prudent intellectual property strategies. Relevant intellectual property areas include patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets, technology licensing, and export licensing. Ken also serves as external general counsel for several entities and participates in preparation of financial documents, corporate governance, contract development and negotiations, and, personnel matters.
Technical areas of expertise include energy systems (conventional and renewable), software (including SaaS), control systems, sensors, telecommunications (including advanced wireless and radar technologies), medical devices, biotechnology, wearables, consumer devices and more. Ken has handled international negotiations for clients from Europe to Saudi Arabia and China.
For over a decade, MTL has maintained opportunities for engineering and legal graduates to work with the firm as interns and employees to get first-hand experience dealing with today's legal, technology and business challenges and opportunities. Ken works with the California Conservation Corps to develop career and eduational resources for foster youth, Veterans, and California's young adults between ages of 18 and 25.
